The Cardium formation is characterized by two stacked “A” and “B” sands with large original oil in place and relatively low recovery factor to date in an area with year round access.  Production from the formation is 45 degree API light crude oil and associated natural gas.   Current development of the Cardium play in the area by operators completing wells utilizing new multi-stage frac technology has yielded promising results to date.
